Everything on RV Folks is general information for RVers. Please read this page before you rely on our guides, calculators or images.
1. General information only
The articles, tips and tools on RV Folks are for general information and education. They are not professional advice. We are not mechanics, engineers, electricians, lawyers, insurers or financial advisers, and nothing on the site replaces one.
For anything involving safety, the law, money or your vehicle, check with a qualified professional or the official source.
2. Your safety is your responsibility
RVing, towing, driving and vehicle repairs involve real risks. Before you act on anything you read here:
- Check your manuals. Your owner’s manuals and the labels on your vehicle and trailer are the final word on weights, ratings, tire pressures and procedures.
- Know your limits. That includes your tow rating, payload, tongue weight, gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and tire load ratings.
- Read the road. Posted signs, local rules and real conditions always come first. That includes bridge and tunnel clearances.
- Use a professional where it matters. Work on propane, electrical, brakes, hitches and structure should be done by a qualified person.
You use the information on RV Folks at your own risk.
3. Calculators and tools
Our calculators are estimation tools. They use the numbers you enter and standard formulas, and the results are approximate. Default and example values shown on the site, including on the homepage, are only examples.
The results are not a guarantee, a safety certification or a legal check. They can’t know your exact vehicle, load, route or conditions. Always confirm important numbers with your manuals, official ratings or a professional.
The loan, fuel and trip cost calculators give estimates only. They are not financial advice or an offer of credit, and real prices, rates and fees will differ.
4. Accuracy and changes
We work hard to be accurate, but we can’t promise that everything is complete, correct or up to date. Laws, rules, prices, campground policies and products change, and rules differ from state to state. This includes height, length and weight limits, towing laws and campground rules.
Please check official sources, such as your state’s transportation department or the campground itself, before you travel.
5. Images and illustrations
The images in our articles are AI-generated illustrations. They show the topic in general terms, such as a person repairing an RV or a motorhome on a road. They are not photographs of real events, and the people in them are not real.
We don’t use AI images to show what a specific product looks like or to suggest that a product or place is something it is not. When an article is about a specific real place, we use real photographs of it.
Illustrations of social media posts or comments on the site, such as the Facebook preview on our homepage, use example names and numbers. They are not real people or real statistics.
6. How we create our content
Our content is created with the help of AI tools and published by RV Folks. The tips in it are general guidance, and your own results may differ.
7. Products, prices and affiliate links
We may mention products, brands and services. A mention is not a guarantee of quality or safety, and prices and availability change.
Some links on the site may be affiliate links, and the site may show ads in the future. We may earn money from them, as explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.
8. Third-party content, links and the Facebook community
RV Folks links to other websites and has a Facebook Page where people can comment. We don’t control other sites or what people post, and we are not responsible for them. Opinions in comments belong to their authors and are not advice from RV Folks.
9. Trademarks and independence
Brand names, product names and logos on RV Folks belong to their owners and are used only to describe products or services. RV Folks is an independent website. It isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any RV manufacturer, retailer, campground, Meta or Facebook, or Amazon, unless we say so.
10. No liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RV Folks is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from the use of, or reliance on, the information, tools or images on this site. Our Terms of Use explain the limits of our liability in more detail.
